Discutie fara niciun deznodamant. Cam asa as putea concluzia chiar inainte sa incep sa scriu aceste randuri.

Trusa unui specialist ar trebui sa fie smart.

Dar in egala masura, rezultate cum are Skindinavia mai rar descoperi in meseria de makeup artist, deci cumperi valoarea produsului, fara sa conteze pretul.

Totul sta intr-o balanta.

Expensive vs. cheap makeup products. Are we paying for value or for marketing?

Pointless discussion. This is what I may conclude even before beginning to write these
lines. There has always been a difference between expensive products and cheap
products, especially in consumer’s perception. As for any subject, specialists are
divided, some saying that for expensive products we only pay for marketing, while
others appreciate the value and details that account for the difference in quality and
price.

In my portfolio, for example, there are expensive products as well as cheap products,
because I believe first in the product’s properties, and then the price. It is not the price
that should decide if a product is bought or not, but the way in which consumers can
use product, the occasion in which it is used and the desired results.
I personally love the Make Up For Ever foundation, and I cannot imagine a bridal
makeup without it. But this doesn’t mean that I don’t also recommend a more
affordable alternative which provides good results, not as good, but is still long-lasting
and has a pleasant texture, such as the LA GIRL foundation.
And the list of examples can go on. But between these discoveries, that can only be
made after lots of testing, and claiming vehemently that we SHOULD’T buy cheap
products, well… this is not ok.
An expert’s makeup kit should be smart, both with expensive and more affordable
products. The must have, for example, could consist of products that have no
equivalent on the market, such as some shadow palettes, the Beautyblender sponge
(whatever you may say, only the original is truly wow), and so on. The rest may be a
combination of carefully chosen products, based on the results and the value for money
they provide.
For example, nothing should stop you from purchasing the LA GIRL eyebrow pomade,
which is extraordinary and 3 times cheaper that that of an American brand, you know
which one I’m talking about, the one that specializes in eyebrow products. Equally,
results such as provided by Skandinavia can rarely be found in the makeup artist
profession, therefore it is the value of the product that is purchased, without concern
for the price.
Everything is in the balance. The balance of smart shopping, testing and adequate
searching. Please stop labeling expensive products as marketing price and stating that
cheap products are worse.
I invite you to discovery. Discover what you like and what is best for your customer and
for your wallet.

See you soon, Andra
